Rod Stewart has long been known for his rock and roll lifestyle, partying hard and living life on his terms. Even now, he openly admits to “going mad” on booze before and after every show. His wild ways have never been toned down, and despite his family’s concerns, he has no intention of changing.
“I’m aware my days are numbered, but I’ve got no fear,” Stewart says. “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can.”

Rod Stewart has a lot of quirky and bizarre habits and rituals he has picked up over the years. And needless to say, his family and fans are not thrilled about a lot of them. Regardless, Rod has always been open and honest about his wild rock and roll lifestyle, and after more than six decades in the music business, he is not about to change them now. “One thing I do love is a drink,” he said
However, that hasn’t stopped Rod Stewart’s family and fans from sounding the alarm. The Forever Young rocker recently revealed his longtime pre-show vocal ritual, one he swears keeps his voice in top shape. But insiders aren’t convinced. Those closest to him fear the habit may be less about vocal care and more about masking a deeper issue he’s refusing to confront.
Rod Stewart Family Fears He Is Pushing Himself Too Far
One of Stewart’s most talked-about quirks is his vocal warm-up, which consists of gargling rum and Coke before every show. He’s been doing it for over 40 years and calls it essential “vocal cord care.” While alcohol is generally dehydrating, Stewart swears by his ritual, which has become a signature part of his pre-show preparation.
The music icon loves to push his limits. But these days, his family fears he is going too far. Despite his wild nights, Stewart is serious about keeping his body in shape. When not on tour, he stays active with access to an indoor pool, a fully equipped gym, and his own golf course. He’s been loyal to the same personal trainer for 40 years, a testament to his commitment to fitness.
Rod Stewart has a much bigger fitness goal on his mind these days. The singer is said to be training hard on a private 100-meter track at his mansion in hopes of winning a world record title. Per Radar Online, Rod plans to supersede his current best time of 19 seconds in the hope of winning the World Record Title.
Rod Stewart Ready To Make Some Noise
The 80-year-old title is held by Kenton Brown, of Las Vegas, Nevada, at 80 years, 32 days, who won the 100-meter track record with a time of 14.21. Meaning, Stewart has some work ahead of him to beat the current winning time. Sources state that his family members have pleaded with him: “Don’t do it! We’re worried your heart will literally explode.”
Rod Stewart isn’t interested in aging quietly or playing it safe. Whether it’s chasing a world record sprint, belting out hits with a rum-and-Coke gargle, or partying like it’s still the ’70s, he’s charging headfirst into the next chapter of his life. And he is adamant it will be on his terms.
