The Sister Wives era of plural love is officially over, at least for Kody Brown and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown. After years of reality TV drama, failed marriages, and fractured family bonds, the duo is closing the book on polygamy for good.

In the final moments of TLC’s Sister Wives: One-on-One Tell-All special, Kody Brown didn’t leave any room for speculation. When asked if he would ever return to plural marriage, his response was blunt and absolute: “Hell no.” And honestly, can anyone blame him?

The once-proud polygamist who juggled four wives and 18 children has seen his family unravel in the most public way imaginable. One by one, Meri, Janelle, and Christine all called it quits, leaving Kody with only one wife left, Robyn, who many fans believe was the catalyst for the family’s downfall.

Kody isn’t sugarcoating how he feels these days about the plural lifestyle he once championed. “I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore,” he said. “I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want the headache. I’m not in that space.” He even admitted feeling “slapped by polygamy,” which says a lot coming from the man who spent more than two decades building a life around it.

To be fair, Kody isn’t pretending it was all bad. He still values the time he spent in the lifestyle, saying, “I’m glad we had the experience. I’m glad I got all those children, and I’m glad I’ve got this relationship.” So while he’s clearly done with the lifestyle, he’s not dragging it through the mud.

Then there’s Robyn Brown. She might be the last wife standing, but her dreams of a big, happy polygamous family have definitely been dashed. “I had a different plan for my life,” she admitted. “I was going to live in a plural marriage, and I was going to be part of a big family. That’s been taken away from me.”

Whether you love her or blame her, Robyn has made it clear that she’s not going anywhere. Through everything, the chaos, the criticism, the collapse of Kody’s other relationships, she’s still choosing him. “I always choose Kody,” she said, cementing her role as his one and only.

And honestly, maybe that’s for the best. After years of emotional strain, jealousy, and logistical nightmares, maybe a one-on-one marriage is exactly what Kody and Robyn need. Sure, it’s ironic that the show titled Sister Wives now centers around a monogamous couple, but in a way, it’s fitting. The Brown family story has always been about evolution, love, and let’s face it, plenty of drama.

It’s safe to say that fans will continue to have opinions. Robyn’s loyalty will be questioned. Kody’s choices will be dissected. And the former sister wives are all carving out new, independent lives that fans seem more than happy to support. But for Kody and Robyn, the message is loud and clear: polygamy is in the past, and monogamy is their future.

Time will tell if this simpler life without Sister Wives brings them peace. But one thing’s for sure, Kody Brown and Robyn Brown seem to want a little less chaos.
