Florida isn’t known for dull neighborhood disputes, but this latest stunt takes the cake. One local woman apparently could not tolerate her neighbor having a landscaper tend to her yard. But what she did next has the neighborhood buzzing.
A video uploaded by TikTok user d.b.landscaping shows the aftermath of an almost unthinkable act: all of a homeowner’s bushes were cut down to bare stems, with no green leaves left in sight. The landscaper claimed that the culprit, dubbed “Karen the neighbor,” took matters into her own hands after getting upset that her bushes had been trimmed.
“She decided to take it out and cut all the way down without my permission,” the landscaper said. The homeowner, seen in a pink shirt surveying the damage, was left stunned by the apparent destruction. Online viewers were equally shocked, with comments ranging from “The judge is going to have a field day with her!!!” to calls for arrest and lawsuits.
Legal Consequences Karen Could Face In Florida
While some commenters debated whether the bushes were too close to a utility easement. There are rules generally prohibiting planting within ten feet of a utility box. However, the landscaper emphasized that Karen had no legal authority to cut the 25-year-old shrubs herself. Her disregard for Florida property boundaries and regulations was clear.
The law does not take kindly to this kind of property destruction. If the homeowner decides to pursue legal action, Karen could be on the hook for civil fines or criminal charges. Damaging someone else’s landscaping can lead to paying for full replacement costs, potential additional damages, and court fees.

Taking it upon herself to destroy someone else’s property over a landscaping dispute is extreme, unhinged, and deserving of whatever legal or social consequences come her way. Hopefully, the homeowner will have the shrubs replaced. This time far enough from the utility box and well out of Karen’s reach.
