There are countless videos online that depict what it can be like to work in the service industry. However, in those clips, it’s typically the customers causing a big scene, not the workers. However, that was not the case in this Virginia McDonald’s drive-thru line. A recently posted TikTok video shows the altercation as this male employee is extremely rude to the woman recording. The video has around 7K likes and 55K views as social media users take sides.
The TikTok video starts off with the man reading the woman’s receipt as she was missing an item from her meal. Although seemingly for no reason at all, the McDonald’s employee is being very rude to this woman, as he even accuses her of trying to “Steal” from the restaurant. He then crumples up the piece of paper and lobs it directly at the woman’s face. While it is unknown why this young man is so mad, it is also unknown what occurred before this Virginia woman started recording. Unfortunately, a lot of context is missing here, and it makes it very difficult to tell who is truly in the wrong here.
TikTok Takes Sides Following Virginia McDonald’s Altercation
The TikTok comment section seemingly felt the same way, as many would rush to pick sides in the matter. “Definitely was unacceptable, but the General Manager resolved the situation & made sure it was made right,” wrote one. “Wow, so rude, if it’s McDonald’s sent to corporate,” stated another. One comment read, “Fire him. Nobody should take their McDonald’s job this seriously.”
One other person said, “Sorry you had to deal with that.” Finally, one other person’s comment pointed out, “I get your upset, but why do people go out of their way to cause a problem over something so small at a fast food place?” It would seem as though that while many are in support of this woman, some are just a little confused about what the big deal is.
As the TikTok continues, the Virginia McDonald’s manager comes to the window to resolve the situation. The woman then gives the person recording her missing item, as the man from earlier blows the customer a kiss and waves goodbye. The woman recording would later comment on this TikTok, stating, “He got fired,” regarding the rude young man. It seems as though it all worked out in the end, and hopefully that guy can work on his anger issues for his next job.
