The internet and social media is filled with all kinds of different content spread out amongst the vastness that is the web. However, sometimes a video will just really gain a lot of traction, even if nothing really happens in it. Take this recently posted TikTok video, for example. The clip has around 3.7 million likes and 37.3 million views as this Colorado couple is recorded as they make very unsettling and unmoving facial expressions.
The TikTok video starts off with the person recording sitting inside of their vehicle. However, across the parking lot of what appears to be some kind of restaurant with a drive-thru, viewers can see a red SUV with two people sitting inside. The text on the screen then reads, “I saw these two, and they freaked me out. They would barely move, and if they did move, they’d go right back to the scary pose.” Sure enough, once the Colorado native zoomed in, the two in the red car can be seen with very creepy smiles on their faces, and they, in fact, keep that pose for some unknown reason.

At one point in the video, though, the woman in the SUV does move slightly, but she then gets right back into her spot, as she resumes the sinister smile and statue-like stillness. Unsurprisingly, the TikTok comment section had a lot to say regarding this, as many users would rush to leave behind their own thoughts and opinions regarding the matter. “They’re saying to each other, ‘yeah, they’re still recording, keep going,’ lmao,” joke done. Another pointed out, “They’re probably just watching a video.“
A different commenter also wrote, “I once had a person come up to me while working retail when I was 19 or so. She stood about 5 feet away and smiled. It was a huge smile, honestly, the scariest I’ve ever seen.” Somebody else would then ask, “What if they are just regular happy people?” Finally, one last person’s comment would also read, “It’s like a Matrix glitch.”
Sadly, the TikTok video would then come to an end following this Colorado native’s strange encounter. Yet, the video’s caption does give a little more context to the situation at hand. The caption states that the couple would stay like this for around ten minutes before the person recording would have to leave. At the end of the day, this was certainly odd. However, there is probably a perfectly sound explanation for it all if the person recording had asked.
