A Georgia mother is going viral after sharing a disturbing chain of events that she says unfolded during what should’ve been a routine traffic stop. In a state known for its Southern hospitality, many viewers were stunned to hear her claim that officers left her baby girl alone inside a car on the side of a busy roadway with no supervision and no explanation.
According to the mother, her daughter had been riding with a friend who was pulled over for a traffic violation somewhere in Georgia. After officers arrested the friend, the mom says they didn’t bother checking the back seat or making sure someone was responsible for the toddler. When she found out what happened, panic immediately kicked in. She contacted an officer at her job and begged to be taken to the scene as fast as possible.
The mom recorded her ride in the back of a patrol car and later posted the video online, telling followers she feared something terrible had happened. When she arrived at the scene, her worst fears were confirmed. Despite a police vehicle still being parked nearby, she says no one was with her child.
Georgia Mom Claims Her Baby Was Left Alone In A Car On Busy Road
The Georgia mother says she found her toddler unbuckled in the driver’s seat of the car, the windows rolled down, and traffic flying past just feet away. It doesn’t take a safety expert to know how dangerous that is, especially for a child left unattended for what she says was around twenty minutes. Between possible accidents, strangers approaching, or the child wandering out of the vehicle, the situation could’ve spiraled into a tragedy.
Making things worse, the mom claims the friend who was pulled over wasn’t even allowed to check on the toddler during the arrest. She says officers reassured her friend that the baby would be cared for, but the scene she walked into told an entirely different story.
In her follow-up video, the Georgia woman expressed frustration not just about what happened, but about what hasn’t happened since. According to her, the department told her they do not plan to hold the officers involved accountable. She was also informed that bodycam footage allegedly shows the officers watching the baby. Yet no one could explain why the little girl ended up unbuckled, unsupervised, and left in a running car with the windows down.
The Internet Is Shocked
To add even more suspicion, the mother says the department refused to release the footage to her. As she pointed out online, if the video really supports the officers’ claims, there shouldn’t be any problem letting her see it.
“That’s child neglect and endangerment,” one person commented. “Girl don’t even try to talk with the police about this. Go straight to an attorney,” said another. “Wow that is so wrong,” a third person wrote. “This is highly messed up, there’s so many stories like these with cops really sucks for the good ones out there for sure,” a fourth comment read.
Now, she’s preparing to involve a lawyer who will formally request the footage and push for answers. And while the Georgia department may hope this blows over.
