That’s exactly what happened when a Domino’s delivery driver in Illinois ended up going viral thanks to a TikTok video shared by user @shanesmith630. The clip, captured on a friend’s doorbell camera, shows a regular pizza hand-off suddenly unraveling into a tense, awkward, and downright unbelievable exchange.
The video begins with the Illinois delivery man walking up to the door, pizzas in hand, ready to complete the $54.74 order. Pretty standard until the customer takes the food and hands over a $100 bill, expecting $35 back. While the plan sounded simple in the homeowner’s mind, Domino’s has a clear policy: drivers only carry $15 in change.
Illinois Man Takes Pizza Without Paying When Delivery Driver Can’t Make Change
The driver politely explains this, but the man instantly gets irritated, insisting he had called ahead to notify the store he’d be paying with a hundred. He even attempts to pressure the employee into taking the $100 back to the store, grabbing the correct change, and returning, which the driver immediately turns down since it was one of the busiest nights of the year for pizza deliveries.
“So what am I supposed to do now?” the customer snaps, sounding more inconvenienced than someone who just took food he hasn’t paid for. The driver calmly suggests the obvious solution: call the store and pay with a credit card. But the customer refuses, as if that idea were completely out of the question. Instead, he insists again that the driver should figure out a way to break the bill.
