In a surprising turn of events, Little People, Big World star Matt Roloff and his longtime partner Caryn Chandler have decided to end their relationship. The couple had been together since 2017 and were engaged for over a year, but despite their seemingly solid bond and public displays of affection, they’ve chosen to go their separate ways.

Matt Roloff broke the news to fans himself, calling the split a mutual and peaceful decision. But signs of strain had been bubbling beneath the surface for some time. Their wedding, initially planned for May 2024, never came to pass.
According to The Sun, sources claimed the delay stemmed from Roloff’s desire to care for his aging mother. Especially after the passing of his father in 2022. The couple had toyed with the idea of a Hawaiian wedding or even tying the knot on Roloff Farms. But neither plan ever moved past the early stages.

Season 25 of Little People, Big World even documented their clashing visions for the big day. While Chandler preferred a private and cozy ceremony, Roloff was leaning into something more extravagant, complete with a helicopter entrance and a large guest list. Not to mention, Chandler was dead set against getting married at Roloff Farms. Considering it the same venue where Matt’s ex-wife Amy married her husband Chris.
The cracks had begun to show, with clear disagreements on how to celebrate their union. Chandler openly admitted she wanted to start new traditions, away from Matt’s past. Meanwhile, Roloff, ever the showman, seemed excited by grand gestures that didn’t sit well with his bride-to-be. Although both maintained a united front in public, these differing perspectives may have quietly driven a wedge between them.
Matt Roloff seems committed to moving forward with “positivity and trust,” focusing his energy on family and his responsibilities, especially as his mother continues to age. The split may be amicable on the surface. But fans can’t help but wonder if this was a long time coming.
