California Nepo, baby Elijah Blue Allman, the 48-year-old son of entertainment icon Cher and late rocker Gregg Allman, was found standing statue-still and unresponsive in a scorching 104-degree California heatwave.
Described as “zombie-like,” he was discovered outside an Airbnb in Joshua Tree looking disheveled, sunburned, and alarmingly out of touch with reality. His hands and feet were reportedly swollen and covered in blackened scabs, symptoms friends believe were caused by a dangerous drug cocktail.
Earlier that day, Ring security footage captured Elijah Allman carrying drugs wrapped in tin foil into the Airbnb. He appeared unsteady, wearing filthy clothes and looking clearly under the influence. Inside the home owned by long-time friend and former girlfriend of Matthew Perry, Kayti Edwards. Authorities later found heroin and powdered fentanyl scattered across a table. Some of it appeared chopped up and snorted off the back of a smartphone.
Paramedics and San Bernardino police responded to the scene. Even trained emergency personnel struggled to get through to Elijah. Allman reportedly remained locked in a trance-like state for nearly ten minutes. Kayti Edwards, growing increasingly concerned about Elijah’s erratic behavior, was finally able to convince him to accept medical help. After he was taken to the hospital, police searched Edwards’ property, posting a warning notice about the presence of fentanyl.
California Celebrity Has Long Troubling Past With Addiction
The Sun reports that Cher’s son, Elijah, has a long history of addiction issues. Allman had been staying at Kayti’s Airbnb since June 6 after reaching out to her for a safe place to stay. She believed he had turned a corner with his past drug issues.
It quickly became evident he was slipping back into dangerous habits. Edwards was the girlfriend of the late Friends star Perry. Matthew Perry passed away due to a fatal overdose in 2023. Kayti found Elijah in a scary state of intoxication, revealing she was terrified that history was about to repeat itself.
“She’d known he had issues with drugs in the past. But thought he was finally clean. However, it quickly became apparent that wasn’t the case. It’s all very sad,” one insider states.
Cher has been working nonstop for over a year and unsuccessfully sought legal conservatorship over him. She feared any trust funds he received would fuel his drug use. Though Elijah claimed to be clean and sober at the time. This latest episode has cast serious doubt over his recovery claims.
Currently, Elijah is being treated at a private Pasadena facility. Cher is said to be focusing her efforts on ensuring he gets the help he desperately needs. Despite a long history of highs and lows, the latest episode has shocked friends, family, and fans alike. With Cher reportedly rallying behind her son once again, hopes remain that Elijah can still turn his life around before it’s too late.
