It all began with a carefully planned dinner. The California man said he chose a nice Italian restaurant and even made a reservation ahead of time. Still, he brushed it off, assuming it would just be one while they waited. But as time passed and their table still wasn’t ready, she finished the first drink and made it clear she wanted another.
Dinner Takes an Unexpected Turn For Unsuspecting California Man
Trying to keep things smooth, he agreed. Then came a third drink, before they had even sat down for dinner. He started to feel uneasy at that point. He explained that he personally sticks to a two-drink limit on first dates, but it was obvious they weren’t on the same page.
Once they were finally seated, he thought things might settle down. Instead, they escalated. As they looked over the menu, she enthusiastically suggested ordering “everything.” He initially thought she meant picking a couple of dishes to share. But when the server arrived, she took over and ordered multiple appetizers, a salad, several pasta dishes, and another expensive drink.
By the time the food arrived, she was already five drinks in and clearly feeling it. He described her as giggly, distracted, and constantly getting up to go to the bathroom. Meanwhile, the table was filled with more food than one person could reasonably eat.
The Breaking Point
As expected, she barely touched most of the meal. He, on the other hand, tried to eat what he could, not wanting the food or his money to go to waste. Eventually, he asked for the check and requested to-go boxes, figuring at least he could salvage something from the night.
After arranging an Uber for her and walking her outside, he thought the evening was finally wrapping up. However, just as she was about to get into the car, she grabbed the entire bag of leftovers from his hands.
Confused, he asked what she was doing. Her response? She was taking “her” food home. He tried to compromise, asking if he could at least take one of the dishes. But she refused.
