Thrift stores are slowly becoming all the rage, especially for the younger generations. People will go to these stores in search of old things as well as just clothes that they like, in order to restore them, or for whatever purpose they have for buying these items. Take this recently posted TikTok video as a prime example. The clip has around 261K likes and 6.4 million views, as this Wisconsin man seemingly hits the jackpot at his local Goodwill store.
Sadly, the TikTok video would start off with the man already out in the parking lot of the store after he allegedly purchased an old clock from Goodwill. Viewers can also see an elderly Wisconsin couple standing outside of the man’s car as he starts recording. Finally, the man would open the back of the clock to reveal a huge wad of cash stacked neatly inside the item. The text on the screen also reads, “I bought this clock at Goodwill for $6. These people followed me outside and told me they would give me $100 for the clock.” Yet, while that may have sounded like a good deal at the time, the man refused and was rewarded handsomely for it.
TikTok Reacts To Wisconsin Father’s Goodwill Discovery
Unsurprisingly, the TikTok comment section had so much to say regarding this discovery. Many users would flock to the clip in order to leave behind their own thoughts and opinions. “This is not real. Goodwill thoroughly checks everything that comes through to make sure it is safe and acceptable to sell,” wrote one. Another asked, “Why would you post this?” Someone else also wanted to know, “Why don’t I believe this?” Finally, one last person’s comment also read, “This is a commercial for Goodwill.”
As the video goes on, the Wisconsin man begins to reach in and pull out handfuls of cash from the inside of the clock he bought. The money almost seems to never end as he pulls handfuls at a time out of the item. The entire time this is happening, the man states over and over again how he just can not believe what he has found.
Unfortunately, the TikTok video would come to an end following this man pulling out most of the money. Yet, despite that, a lot of users seem to think that this clip was staged, and maybe it was. At the end of the day, there is no real way to tell. Nevertheless, this Wisconsin man got very lucky with this purchase, and if it was real, hopefully, all that cash can help his family in some way.
