But for one Texas woman, a simple stop at a Florida Walmart turned into a nightmare she’ll never forget. What should’ve been a quick shopping trip left her dizzy, disoriented, and convinced she had been drugged right there in the store.
The woman, identified as Cristin Ludlow, took to TikTok to recount her unsettling experience, warning others to stay alert while out in public. Her video has since gone viral, racking up more than 7 million views and sparking intense discussion online. In the clip, Ludlow begins by saying she has “a really important message” for her followers, one that no one expects to have to share.
According to the Texas native, the incident happened while she was in Florida shopping for a table. While browsing in the Walmart aisles, she was approached by a woman who introduced herself as a “missionary from Brazil.” The stranger struck up a conversation and then handed Cristin a book wrapped in what appeared to be old, worn plastic. Out of curiosity, Ludlow accepted the book, and that’s where things took a frightening turn.

Ludlow explained that she held the book itself rather than the plastic wrap. The woman reportedly told her the book could be hers for $20, but Ludlow declined and handed it back. Within just 30 seconds, though, she began to feel “dizzy.” The sudden onset of the symptoms made her fear that something in the book might have contained a drug or chemical that caused the reaction.
As her condition worsened, Ludlow knew something wasn’t right. She sought help from Walmart employees, who quickly stepped in to assist. According to her account, the staff acted swiftly, even preparing Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, just in case. Ludlow was later drug-tested by police. “I never thought this would happen to me,” the caption of her video reads.

The ordeal has left viewers shaken. Many flooded her TikTok comments with messages of concern and disbelief. “Stop shopping at Walmart!!! IT’S NOT A SAFE PLACE! Literally!!!” one person commented. “Demons walk among us,” another wrote. “What a sick world this has become,” a third comment read.
Whether the stranger’s intentions were malicious or something else entirely remains unclear, but the experience serves as a serious warning.
