Bobby Sherman, the clean-cut teen idol who made hearts race in the 1960s and ‘70s, died at the age of 81 following a brutal and bravely fought battle with stage 4 kidney cancer. By his last request, the singer passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Two months before his tragic passing, Bobby Sherman’s wife, Brigitte Poublon, announced that the singer had been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in March. Brigitte revealed that the former teen idol was in rapid decline, revealing to fans that his body had begun to shut down.

The former pop singer made one final heart-wrenching request during his last hospital stay, according to Radar Online, simply pleading, “Brig, I just want to go home.

Poublon describes her husband’s painful battle, revealing that his decline came on rapidily.”He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden, Saturday, he turned around and…he’s just sleeping more, and his body’s not working anymore. It’s not. Everything’s shutting down.”

In 2024, Bobby Sherman stepped away from the entertainment industry as his failing health began to take a toll on his body. At that time, his wife revealed the singer was still able to interact with his beloved fans and sign autographs. However, that quickly changed, and he just wanted to be “left in peace.”

Tributes Pour In As Fans Mourn The Loss Of Icon Bobby Sherman

On Tuesday, Poublon sadly announced, “It is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Bobby Sherman. Bobby left this world holding my hand. Just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my Prince Charming.

As he rested, I read him fan letters from all over the world. Words of love and gratitude that lifted his spirits and reminded him of how deeply he was cherished,” she added. Fan reactions and tributes to the late legend continue to pour in.

RIP Bobby. People all over the world are heartbroken,” one fan writes.

In terms of 70’s wholesome cuteness, Bobby Sherman was right up there with Davy Jones and David Cassidy. A very sad loss. Condolences to all those who loved him.”

I used to love him as a kid. Such a heartthrob. So sad. Sad that all the iconic movie stars and artists are getting older and dying. The music today is nothing like it was in the 50s, 60s,70s, Etc. RIP.”

Those golden dreams of our yesterday. So many have gone now. Shedding a little tear.”This is sad. His Here Comes Bobby album came with a poster that I hung in my bedroom. You know you’re getting old when your teenage heartthrobs die.”

Sherman also showed off his acting chops in the ABC hit Here Come The Brides, where he played the baby-faced Jeremy Boly from 1968 to 1970. Fans also spotted the heartthrob guest-starring on fan-favorite shows like The Monkees and The Partridge Family during the height of his fame.

The beloved star is survived by his wife, Brigitte Poublon, and his two sons, Christopher and Tyler, whom he shared with his first wife, Patti Carnel.
