From flipping on the gymnastics mat to running along the sandy shores, Livvy Dunne is officially taking her talents from Louisiana to Hollywood. The former LSU gymnastics standout has been cast in Fox’s upcoming Baywatch 2.0: The Influencer Edition, a modern reboot of the legendary lifeguard drama, which starred Pamela Anderson.

Fans of Dunne, who boasts a massive 13 million social media followers, now have another reason to cheer: she’ll play Grace, a “highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard,” bringing her energy and charisma to the small screen.

The announcement marks a dramatic career pivot for Dunne, who retired from gymnastics in April 2025. She’s joining a cast of familiar faces and social media stars, including Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, and Thaddeus LaGrone. Leading the series as Hobie Buchannon is Stephen Amell, while David Chokachi is returning to reprise his classic role as Cody Madison.

Amell’s character, for fans of the original series, is the son of Mitch Buchannon, the iconic role once played by David Hasselhoff. Whether Hasselhoff himself will make a cameo remains unconfirmed, but speculation is already buzzing online.

While comparisons to Pamela Anderson have already started, Livvy Dunne says she’s just happy about getting to pursue acting, which she’s been passionate about for a long time. She even takes lessons in hopes of perfecting the craft.

For Dunne, acting is not just a whim it’s been a long-standing passion. She told People, “One thing people would be surprised about is that I take acting lessons — and I really love it. It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school; school and sports, but really gymnastics was my main focus.” She continued, “And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things.”

The transition from elite athletics to acting isn’t unheard of, but it’s certainly exciting to see a former LSU gymnast stepping into such a high-profile project. Livvy’s athleticism will likely be an asset on a show that still celebrates the action-packed, high-energy antics the Baywatch franchise is known for. And with her loyal fanbase following her every move, the reboot could gain a fresh audience right out of the gate.

Olivia Dunne Ready To Transition Into Acting

Filming for Baywatch: The Influencer Edition has already begun, with the first table read reported last week, according to TMZ. The show is slated to premiere during the 2026–2027 television season, giving Louisiana fans plenty of time to prepare for the moment when one of their own hits the beach in Hollywood.

“She has big shoes to fill,” one person commented online, seemingly referencing the former stars such as Pamela Anderson. “Acting background not required,” joked another. “Can’t wait to never watch this,” declared a third person. “Baywatch reboot? Why?” a fourth comment read.

For Livvy Dunne, the journey from gymnastics star to junior lifeguard on a national TV reboot marks an exciting new chapter and one that’s firmly putting Louisiana talent in the spotlight once again. With her athletic chops, social media influence, and budding acting chops, it’s safe to say this is one splashy move we’ll be watching closely.
