Getting engaged is supposed to be a very significant and happy moment in a person’s life. However, not everything can go as planned all the time. Take this recently posted TikTok video as a prime example. The clip has around 146K likes and 1.1 million views as this Arizona couple’s engagement gets crashed by an oblivious old woman. Social media users seemingly can’t get enough of the video as it continues to go viral online.
The TikTok video starts off with the happy couple walking up to the pre-determined spot. The man has also set up candles as well as plants and flower peddles. The area looks very nice, and he obviously took a lot of care in doing so. The woman also seems impressed, as it is hard for her to contain her excitement. However, before the man could get down on one knee and pop the question, an elderly Arizona woman can be seen coming out from a strange side door.

The old woman then states, “I have a question. What happened to the back gate back there?” as she points to something off camera. The young woman, who was about to be asked for her hand in marriage, then tells the strange lady that she has no idea what happened to it. She is clearly trying to be as nice as possible, but this old woman just won’t take the hint. The woman doesn’t even leave when the couple’s family is motioning her out. She would stay in talk for quite some time, it would seem.
The TikTok comment section was up in arms following this, though. Many users would flock to the video in order to leave behind their own thoughts and jokes regarding the odd encounter. “Stop engaging with people., just ignore them,” wrote one. Another said, “I’m just confused why she would approach what appears to be a closed door.” Someone else also joked, “That bike helmet is a crime against fashion.” Finally, one last person’s comment read, “I’d never get over this.”
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the elderly Arizona woman would leave the young couple alone. They would share a laugh as the man got down on his knee to ask the woman to marry him. At the end of the day, this one had a happy ending. However, with that being said, this was still very rude of the old woman.
