A routine food delivery in North Carolina has sparked serious concern after a mother says a DoorDash driver made unsettling remarks to her 12-year-old son, and the whole thing was caught on camera.

What should have been a simple “leave it at the door” drop-off quickly turned into something far more uncomfortable. According to the boy’s mother, Andria Frazier, the delivery instructions were crystal clear. The order was supposed to be left outside.

However, the surveillance footage from her home in North Carolina allegedly shows the driver lingering at the door until someone answered. That someone ended up being her 12-year-old son. In the video, the man there to deliver a DoorDash order is reportedly heard telling the boy he was “beautiful” and asking if he was “taken.”

Frazier didn’t hold back when she shared the footage on Facebook, asking the community if anyone recognized the driver. “Please watch this video and let me know if anyone can recognize him (door dasher!!!!!) This overgrown, nasty butt MAN is talking to my 12-year-old SON!!” she wrote.

She also emphasized that the instructions had specifically said to leave the order outside. “And mind you, the directions on my delivery clearly say leave at the door!! He waited purposely!!! Be careful!! This sick world preys on our children!!!”

According to The NC Beat, community members quickly identified the man in the video as 34-year-old Giavontae Deangelis Archie of Winston-Salem. Public records show that in 2025, Archie was convicted of sexual battery involving a woman 18 or older and is required to remain on North Carolina’s sex offender registry for 10 years. The conviction reportedly occurred in September. That detail understandably intensified concerns surrounding the encounter.

DoorDash has since launched an internal investigation. Frazier says the company informed her that the account used to make the delivery was not registered under Archie’s name but instead under a female’s name. That revelation opens up an entirely different conversation about account sharing and background checks within the gig economy, something that has become a growing point of debate nationwide.

The Man Has Been Identified

As of now, no new charges have been announced. Frazier has stated she is in contact with law enforcement. Culturally, this story taps into a broader anxiety many parents feel in the age of app-based services. Food delivery is supposed to be convenient. Safe. Routine. But when boundaries are ignored, especially where children are concerned, that sense of security cracks fast.

There’s also the added layer of vulnerability when kids answer the door. In many households, it’s a normal part of life. A parent might be in another room. A child might think nothing of grabbing a bag of takeout. But moments like this serve as a harsh reminder that even everyday interactions deserve caution.

To be clear, no physical harm was reported in this situation. The concern centers on the comments made and the fact that the driver allegedly disregarded clear delivery instructions. Still, words matter especially when directed at a minor.

TikTok Speaks Out

It’s also worth noting that gig workers often operate independently, and companies like DoorDash rely heavily on digital systems to manage their fleets. Incidents like this inevitably raise questions about oversight and safeguards.

“This is sick,” one person commented online. “DoorDash needs to be CANCELED,” said another. “Crazy,” a third person chimed in.

This North Carolina mother is doing all she can to ensure her family’s safety and warn others about the situation. It’s horrifying that this would happen at your own home, but thankfully the cameras captured it all.
