Drinking coffee is something that so many people look forward to every morning. Yet, what happens when the ones who make that delicious hot drink don’t take the proper safety precautions while doing so? Welp, that seems to be what went down as an Ohio coffee drinker shared a video on TikTok regarding the situation. The video already has around 190K views and 8K likes as it has officially reached viral status. Social media users are up in arms after this barista allegedly drank a customer’s order before sending it out.
The TikTok video posted by the account @rachaellynn_4804 starts off with the person recording through the glass windows of the cafe. Inside, the vibes seem pretty tense as a woman is preparing a customer’s order. However, she has a very annoyed look on her face and seems to have poor body language. The employee can also be seen moving the drink around carelessly despite it being very full and having no lid on top. However, that’s not what really set this Ohio woman off on social media. As the video continues, the barista goes to smell the drink and puts her entire nose on the brim of the cup. She would then put her back to the camera and seemingly take a sip out of the large coffee.
TikTok Reacts To Ohio Coffee Drinker’s Rage
This is what set not only the person recording but the TikTok comment section into a frenzy. Many commenters would rush to the post to leave behind their thoughts on the matter. “It’s normal for baristas to double-check by smelling, but DRINKING?” exclaimed one. “I used to work there; it’s bad,” pointed out another. “Send this video to corporate,” said one other. Finally, another stated, “That’s nasty!”
However, despite what many believe they saw, it is not confirmed that the Ohio barista actually drank the coffee. Although she definitely did get her nose a little too close for comfort beforehand. Even if this woman did not take a sip out of the drink, having her nose basically in the liquid isn’t much better, if it’s even better at all.
Hopefully, the person recording was able to get a fresh cup of coffee or just went to a different cafe. As for the Ohio barista, she was just doing her job, but that job doesn’t include sampling the drinks before they go out. Whether or not that’s by smell or by taste, it’s probably better to let the customers have that honor.
