The ladies of The View got a dose of the truth when actor Colin Farrell stopped by the New York-based daytime television talk show. Fans could see that over the years, Colin has changed his perspective on life. He reveals he is cool with aging and everything that comes with it, even death. But of course, in true Joy fashion, she had a quick response to the subject.
Fans of The View are accustomed to the show’s hosts disagreeing with news, politics, and even their guests’ varying opinions on life. But Joy quickly pushed back with her trademark humor. Colin was at the show promoting season 2 of his hit AppleTV series Sugar. He reveals he is proud and happy that the show is going well. He also touches on a few personal thoughts.
According to The View YouTube, Colin admits that his recent 50th birthday didn’t bother him at all. In fact, he is not bothered in the least by aging. He is embracing it. When Joy brought up his recent May birthday, she was curious about how he was handling aging, especially after just turning 50 years old.
Colin Farrell Shares His Thoughts on Getting Older With Joy Behar on The View
Farrell doesn’t hesitate. He says he loves getting older. Colin admits that he feels that he has reached who he was meant to become. He states that in your teens, 20s, and 30s, it is all about trying to find who you are. It is a learning process, but now that he is older, all of that stuff has faded away.
His new outlook on life is an honest one. These days, he sees that life is so short, even if you live to 80 or 90, it is just a blip. He also believes that people do not talk openly about death enough. In life, he says, we all have to contend with many of the unhappier moments in the world, such as hunger, war, and sickness. But unless it personally affects you, it is not an existential concern.
That being said, he believes that is why so many people fear death so much. Whether you talk about it or not. It is the one thing that is going to happen to all of us. But Joy chirps back immediately, saying, “Not me. I’m not going.” However, Colin told Joy Behar, “That grim reaper is coming for you as well, sister!” She quickly responded, “But not today.” The exchange quickly became one of the funniest moments of the interview.
Farrell’s Future and ‘Loves of His Life’
Colin also agrees that he doesn’t have any plans to go anytime soon either. In parting, he does offer The View ladies, especially Joy, some crucial advice and words to live by. “Enjoy the moment, enjoy the day, try to have a bit of gratitude, nature is always around. Human beings are making a mess of things. Nature is honest and always there.”
Farrell began his acting career in the late 90s, according to Britannica. He received his first mainstream blockbuster fame with Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, followed by strong performances in Phone Booth. His upcoming projects include Batman II, which is scheduled for release in October 2027.
As for Colin’s personal life, the Irish actor has never been married and is currently single. He is the father to two sons, who he describes as the loves of his life. James Padraig Farrell, 22, and Henry Tadeusz Farrell, 16.
