There are some videos online that immediately make people laugh. Others make people angry. And then there are the clips that make viewers physically recoil while whispering, “Oh absolutely not.” A viral video out of Washington seems to fall firmly into that last category.
A security camera inside what appears to be an apartment building in Washington reportedly captured a DoorDash delivery driver doing something that has completely grossed out social media. And honestly, once you know what allegedly happened, you may never look at food delivery the same way again.
The footage begins innocently enough. A delivery driver can allegedly be seen walking down a carpeted hallway toward a customer’s apartment. Pretty standard stuff. But within seconds, things reportedly go downhill fast, literally.
According to the clip, the driver suddenly drops what appears to be a smoothie order onto the hallway floor. The drink bursts open on impact, splattering smoothie across the carpet in a way that instantly transforms the delivery into a complete disaster.
Washington DoorDasher Shocks Internet With Disgusting Smoothie Display
Now, most people watching assumed the next step would involve contacting support, notifying the customer, or maybe admitting defeat and requesting a replacement order. Apparently, that’s not what happened.
Instead, the video allegedly shows the driver pausing briefly to inspect the mess before doing something that left the internet collectively traumatized. Rather than throwing the ruined drink away, he reportedly began scooping the spilled smoothie off the carpet with his bare hands and putting it back inside the cup.
And according to people reacting online, there didn’t appear to be any attempt to warn the customer afterward either. The footage allegedly shows the driver simply taking the reconstructed smoothie to the apartment door and completing the delivery like nothing had happened.
Naturally, social media absolutely exploded after the clip started circulating. One viewer bluntly wrote, “This is why I never DoorDash anything.”
Honestly, thousands of people seemed to agree. The comments quickly filled with users talking about how food delivery already requires a certain level of trust between customers and strangers handling their meals. Watching someone allegedly scrape a smoothie off a public apartment hallway floor did not exactly help restore confidence.
This Is So Disturbing
Another horrified commenter wrote, “I can’t imagine some of the horrors people have unwittingly ingested.” Some viewers demanded consequences for the driver after watching the footage. “This driver needs to be arrested immediately,” one person commented dramatically.
Of course, because it’s the internet, not everybody reacted with disgust. A handful of commenters somehow found humor in the situation, including one person joking, “I bet it tasted delicious.”
Dark humor aside, the viral video has once again sparked debates online about the risks people take whenever they use food delivery apps. While most drivers are probably doing their jobs responsibly, clips like this tend to stick in people’s minds because they tap directly into one of humanity’s biggest fears: finding out something horrifying happened to your food before it reached you.
The Washington situation also highlights how security cameras have completely changed modern life. Years ago, something like this may have gone unnoticed forever. Now? Every hallway, porch, elevator, and parking lot potentially has footage ready to go viral within hours.
