A Mardi Gras parade is supposed to feel like pure joy, beads flying, music blasting, families lining the streets for a good time. But in Louisiana, one celebration took a troubling turn when a confrontation between two families escalated into something far uglier than anyone signed up for.

The incident happened during the Krewe of Centaur parade in Shreveport, where crowds had gathered along Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway to watch the festivities roll by. According to video captured at the scene, an argument broke out over parade positioning, specifically, where one family was standing. What might have been a simple disagreement quickly spiraled.

The video shows a White family confronting a Black family that included an elderly grandmother and several children. Instead of cooling off or resolving the dispute calmly, things escalated. At one point, a woman can be heard telling the other group, “Y’all can get the [expletive].” And yes, children were present when that was said.

A Louisiana Parade Dispute Turns Into Something Much Bigger

Does anybody know this racist white family that was at the parade today?? Because I really want to know who raised these animals to get in an elderly woman’s face, telling her she “didn’t belong there” and needed to back the f*** up — along with her great grandkids. They were antagonizing my grandmother and my nieces and nephews, threw beer on her, laughed in her face, and were absolutely nasty and disrespectful. It got so bad that my 4-year-old niece was trying to push them away from my grandmother because they wouldn’t leave her alone. Is this really how they treat the elderly and CHILDREN?? Disgusting!!! And yes — I’m mad as hell. #shreveportlouisiana #hatecrime #fyp #abuse #viral

From there, the situation only grew more tense. The woman reportedly wearing a green shirt is seen shouting directly at the elderly grandmother. Moments later, she appears to push someone before throwing a beer in the grandmother’s direction. The aftermath was visible on camera: the grandmother’s shirt was soaked through with liquid.

What makes the footage even more heartbreaking is who was behind the camera. The video was reportedly recorded by a 10-year-old boy from the Black family. Because of that, only part of the altercation was captured. The rest of the confrontation unfolded off-camera.

The emotional weight of the moment didn’t stop there. The grandmother’s granddaughter later shared the clip online, hoping to identify the people involved. She described the family as “racist” and “animals” in her post, expressing anger over how her grandmother and young relatives were treated.

In her caption, she detailed what happened:

“Does anybody know this racist white family that was at the parade today?? Because I really want to know who raised these animals to get in an elderly woman’s face, telling her she ‘didn’t belong there’ and needed to back the [expletive] up — along with her great grandkids. Video Captures Heated Confrontation In Front Of Children

It’s a raw, emotional reaction and one that clearly resonated with viewers online. Social media users expressed outrage not just over the beer being thrown, but over the presence of children and an elderly woman during the confrontation.

Thankfully, there were legal consequences. According to reports from KSLA, the Shreveport Police Department obtained arrest warrants for a woman identified as Georgie Creamer. The incident occurred at the Krewe of Centaur parade on February 7, 2026, around 4 p.m.

Authorities stated the woman was allegedly “using loud and profane language in a public area and throwing a cup containing liquid that struck the victim and a small child.” The charges were listed as disturbing the peace and simple battery. She later turned herself in to police.

Mardi Gras in Louisiana is rooted in community, culture, and shared celebration. It’s meant to be loud and colorful but not hostile. Moments like this stand out because they clash so sharply with what these parades are meant to represent.

Police Take Action After Parade Altercation

No one expects perfection in crowded public spaces. Disagreements happen. But when conflict crosses the line into harassment and physical action, especially involving children and elders, it stops being a simple argument and becomes something much more serious.

“This is so uncalled for,” one person commented online. “So disturbing,” said another. “This is sick. My stomach was turning watching this!!!” a third person chimed in.

In the end, what should have been a festive afternoon in Louisiana became a viral reminder of how quickly things can unravel and why accountability still matters, even in the middle of a parade.
