Reckless Oregon Reality Star Ripped for Irresponsible Parenting Move: ‘This Is So Dangerous’

The Oregon countryside may look peaceful, but things are anything but calm around former reality star Audrey Roloff. Her latest family moment was posted casually online as if nothing were amiss. Has people sounding alarms all over the internet. And while the clip initially seems like just another slice of rustic farm life, it doesn’t take long before viewers realize something far more concerning is unfolding.

Only after watching for a moment does it become clear why critics are once again calling out the ex–Little People, Big World personality for a parenting decision that feels wildly out of touch with basic safety. In the now-viral clip recorded at the Roloff family’s Oregon farm, Audrey focuses her camera on her 4-year-old son Radley as he stands atop an ATV. Yes, the roof of it as he’s shouting gleefully while she films from the driveway. But that wasn’t even the part that set the internet ablaze.

Behind him, viewers quickly spotted 11-year-old Ember perched barefoot on the roof of the actual house, casually sitting near string lights like it was an everyday hangout spot. No shoes, no safety gear, and apparently no nearby adult supervision. Because Audrey is filming from far enough away that she has to zoom in.

This Isn’t Audrey’s First Parenting Controversy

It didn’t take long for Reddit users to collectively declare the whole situation dangerous, reckless, and downright baffling. As if letting kids climb roofs and vehicles barefoot wasn’t questionable enough, the video was posted just days ago. In the middle of Oregon’s chilly winter season.

This is so dangerous, is she insane?” one person wrote in the thread.

Documenting negligence…hmm. That never turns out good,” another adds.

These parents are giving CPS a lot to work with if anything happens to one of their kids. They are both idiots,” one more points out.

Anyone familiar with the region knows that winter temperatures drop fast, and standing barefoot on cold metal and roofing adds an entirely new level of risk. Not only is there the danger of slipping, but exposure to low temperatures can easily push kids toward illness. Viewers were stunned that proper footwear, or even jackets, didn’t seem to be part of the Roloff household’s plan that day.

Former TLC Family, Same Old Chaos

For longtime LPBW watchers, none of this is new territory. Audrey Roloff has been blasted repeatedly over the years for eyebrow-raising parenting choices. Critics previously called her out for placing her newborn daughter in a bassinet surrounded by pillows. Something fans labeled both “alarming” and unsafe. Shortly before that, she was slammed for positioning the same baby in a wrap carrier that fans believed looked risky.

And that’s not counting the countless smaller moments where commenters accused the couple of maintaining a “too relaxed” style with their older kids. Even after leaving TLC in 2018, the scrutiny has never slowed, according to The Sun.

The Oregon may have stepped away from TLC’s Little People, Big World, and the show itself may have wrapped up after nearly two decades on air. But the spotlight never really faded. Each new post seems to reignite debates about how Audrey and Jeremy choose to raise their children. And this rooftop incident has only poured fuel on the fire.

Once again, a seemingly simple family clip has blown up into a full-scale parenting debate. Something Audrey Roloff is becoming known for. Oregon winters, barefoot rooftops, ATV climbing, and barely a watchful eye in sight. It’s no surprise viewers are sounding alarms. And judging by the public’s reaction, this latest fiasco will be added to the growing list of moments critics won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
