California Man Has Awkward Public Bathroom Interaction And Gets Disturbing Surprise When He Walks Into The Stall: ‘Genuinely Exhausting’

One California man is making waves online after sharing what started as a normal night out and quickly spiraled into something way more uncomfortable than anyone signs up for. Los Angeles-based comedian Drew Lausch took to TikTok to break down the situation, and while he may have hoped it would come off as a funny party story, it ended up striking a very different tone.

Drew was at a party, waiting in line for the restroom, already not the most glamorous part of any night out. He’s described himself as “pee shy,” meaning he prefers the privacy of a stall rather than the chaos of a crowded bathroom situation. Totally fair.

While waiting, another guy in line sparked up a conversation. It started off pretty casual, but quickly leaned into the kind of coded party talk that not everyone is familiar with. The stranger asked about the color of Drew’s cup, which in some social scenes is used as a way to signal preferences. Playing along, Drew gave an answer and tried to wrap up the interaction with a polite exit.

California Man’s Bathroom Experience Is Shocking The Internet

The moment a stall opened, Drew went inside, locked the door, and probably thought he was finally getting a minute of peace. But within seconds, things took a turn that honestly feels straight out of a nightmare scenario.

According to Drew, the same man from the line suddenly forced the stall door open. The stranger reportedly asked if he could join him, then followed up with, “Can I touch you?” At that point, whatever lighthearted vibe this story might have had was completely gone.

Drew made it clear he wasn’t interested and wanted no part of the interaction, but the man continued moving toward him anyway. Feeling unsafe, Drew did the only thing he could: he got out of there as quickly as possible.

Later, reflecting on the experience, Drew didn’t hold back. What initially felt like it might be a ridiculous or funny story quickly turned into something much more serious. As he put it, “I’m literally just trying to empty the toxic tequila sodas that are in my system right now.” And honestly, that line alone perfectly captures how absurd and frustrating the whole situation was.

Here’s What TikTok Is Saying

“Genuinely exhausting. I’m sorry. You handled that well, which is so hard,” one person commented. “It’s always hard to be hot at a party,” said another. “No means freaking no!” a third person added. “It’s not gay spaces. It’s just men,” a fourth comment read.

But underneath the humor, there’s a real point here. Just because someone is at a party or engaging in casual conversation doesn’t mean boundaries suddenly disappear. And in this case, a locked bathroom stall, arguably one of the most basic expectations of privacy, wasn’t even respected.

Drew’s experience in California is a reminder that “awkward” doesn’t even begin to cover situations like this. There’s a clear line between a weird interaction and a violation of personal space, and this crossed it.
