A Texas dance recital somehow turned into a full-blown Roseanne Barr spectacle, complete with wine, screaming, insults, and a bizarre rant about moving to Florida. Because apparently no public event is safe from turning into internet chaos anymore.

The comedian and former sitcom star found herself making headlines after she revealed during an Instagram Live that she had been kicked out of her granddaughter’s recital in Texas. And judging by her version of events, things unraveled fast.

Roseanne Barr explained that during intermission she purchased a bottle of wine and decided to enjoy “just a nip” before heading back inside the venue. But according to her, security wasn’t exactly thrilled when she tried bringing the bottle back in.

Roseanne Barr Kicked Out Of Granddaughter’s Texas Recital Over Wine Drama

The entire thing seemed to irritate her long before the actual confrontation escalated. She complained that staff had already forced her to empty her oversized purse into a plastic bag earlier in the night because security allegedly worried she could be carrying a weapon.

“So I emptied everything into the plastic bag, including my adult diapers — humiliating,” she vented during the livestream. According to Barr, she attempted to hand the wine over to a security guard for safekeeping until after the performance. But she claimed the employee immediately shut the idea down.

“Absolutely not!” the guard allegedly responded. That answer apparently sent Barr into comedian-defense mode. She claimed she joked back by asking, “What, do you want me to chug it right here in front of you?” But security reportedly wasn’t amused. Instead, she said the guard demanded she take the wine back to her car or leave entirely.

And if there’s one thing people know about Roseanne Barr, it’s that she’s probably not going to quietly accept being told what to do. Barr later complained that the security guard failed to appreciate her humor because, in her words, “he doesn’t f—— get that it’s me and that I’m a comedian.”

Somewhere in the middle of the chaos, Barr also admitted she’d been loudly complaining about a man seated in front of her because she couldn’t see over him. She referred to him as a “fat b——” before later acknowledging that it was rude.

‘I Drink Too Much And I’m Not Gonna Stop’

At least there was a tiny bit of self-awareness mixed into the rant. “I’m damaged, I admit it,” she confessed before doubling down with, “And I drink too much, and I’m not gonna stop.” Naturally, the situation didn’t end with just recital drama. Barr then pivoted into a completely separate rant about Texas itself, announcing that she may leave the state altogether.

“I’m outta here, Texas, they’re too f—-ing stupid,” she said. Instead, Barr claimed she’s considering relocating to Florida because, according to her, people there better understand the dangers of communism thanks to Cuban communities in places like West Palm Beach.

Online reactions were exactly what you’d expect: completely divided. Some viewers dragged Barr for the behavior, with one person writing, “She’s vulgar and obnoxious.” Another added, “I’m sure her grandkids are mortified by her behavior.”

Others questioned why anyone would even bring alcohol into a child’s recital in the first place. One commenter asked, “Who buys booze and stashes it in their bag to a grandchild’s school?” But not everybody was against her. Some fans still rallied behind the comedian, insisting, “AMERICA loves ROSEANNE,” while another defended her by saying, “She tells it like she sees it.”

And honestly, that might explain why moments like this continue to follow Roseanne Barr everywhere she goes. Whether people find her outrageous, entertaining, exhausting, or oddly honest, she always seems capable of turning even a quiet Texas family recital into headline material.
