Modern Family” is back for Season 7 and the premiere episodes pretty much picks up where Season 6 left off, and then showcases the family’s entire summer.

When last we left the family Andy had went off to propose to his girlfriend and Phil had come to the revelation that Andy and Haley were in love with each other. Upon hearing the news, Haley, along with her mother Claire, went off to find Andy and stop the engagement.

Just before Haley could stop the moment, Claire halted her and asked her to be sure of what she was doing before breaking up the couple. The moment passed and Haley didn’t stop Andy. That was May.

In June, Haley was totally upset about losing Andy and had herself in a funk. She and Claire were spending a ton of time together doing nothing while Haley was depressed and Alex hung out with her new boyfriend, Sanjay.

Finally, Phil put his foot down and told Haley that she needed to take a shower and get out of the house. The family went to the mall to take in a movie when they ran in to Haley’s ex-boyfriend, Dylan.

Haley and Andy’s Romance Dead?

Cut to July and Haley and Dylan are back together and Andy is getting ready to leave for a whole month to go to Utah and plan his wedding with his bride to be. As Phil and Claire are wondering what would have happened if Haley had stopped his proposal, Andy overhears them and seems visibly shaken by the fact that Haley is in love with him, yet he proposed to another woman.

When next we see the family it is September and Andy returns looking about 50 pounds heavier. It’s clear he’s been eating his feelings after finding out about Haley’s love and Haley decides to call him out on it. The two get into a fight and Andy storms off. Claire and Phil vow to continue melding in Haley’s love life.

All the while, Mitchell still hasn’t found a job and decides to take the summer off to paint. Mitch finds the freer part of himself and gets a bit lazy when it comes to looking for a job. Finally, Jay is forced to talk some sense into his oldest son and convinces Mitch that it’s time he goes back to work.
