Parents in Texas already have plenty to worry about when it comes to their kids’ safety, but a Houston mother says she’s living every parent’s worst fear after learning what allegedly happened to her son at school. According to her TikTok video, the bullying her child faced wasn’t just from classmates, but reportedly from a teacher who seemed to support the harassment. And in true Texas fashion, this mom isn’t staying quiet about it.

The story comes out of Houston, Texas, where the McGregor family known online through the TikTok account @themdcgregorfam shared a disturbing video featuring their son, Chance. The clip, which has circulated fast across Texas parenting groups and beyond, details what Chance describes as a humiliating experience that spiraled far beyond normal school drama. “So, my son’s teacher called him a slur today,” she opens up the video.

Chance explains that it all started when another student called him gay in front of the entire gym, sparking laughter from the crowd. Despite the obvious cruelty, he says the school didn’t step in. When it allegedly happened again, Chance finally confided in his teacher, hoping for support. But instead of stepping up, she reportedly shocked him with a response that many online are calling wildly inappropriate for an educator.

According to Chance, the teacher told him she agreed with the bullies and believed he was gay “because of the way he walks.” The shock didn’t end there. Chance says she later pulled him aside and asked, “Do you know why I said that?” When he said no, the teacher continued, “The other people are noticing that you walk funny, too.”

Understandably rattled, Chance packed his things and tried to leave the situation, only to be confronted once again by the same bully. This time, he pushed the student away, and that’s when the school finally decided to take action against him. He claims he received a write-up, and the school even contacted his mother to place blame on her son.

When his mom questioned why the bullying itself wasn’t addressed, staff allegedly brushed it off and said they’d “take care of it tomorrow.” For a Texas mom who has made it clear that she receives calls about even the smallest behavior issues, this was the final straw. She captioned her video with raw frustration:

“They crossed the line. I’m so disgusted and mad at how he was handled. Internet aunties we ride at dawn!!”

The Internet Is Stunned

In a follow-up, the mother said the teacher admitted to making the comments but tried to frame them as being taken out of context. The teacher reportedly claimed she meant that Chance was being silly, and kids might tease him because of it. Even her apology, the mother says, came off as condescending, more of a sorry you misunderstood than actual accountability.

The entire situation has ignited major conversations in Texas and online about bullying, teacher conduct, school responsibility, and how far is too far when it comes to comments made by educators. One thing is clear: whether misunderstood or not, it is never okay for an adult to validate a child’s bullies, especially over something as personal and sensitive as their identity or appearance.

Who’s hiring these teachers?” one person wrote. “This is very very inappropriate. It was NOT professional for the teacher’s place to say that,” another stated. “Hire a lawyer,” a third comment read. “She needs to be fired,” a fourth comment read.

And as this Texas family continues to share their story, thousands of outraged parents are standing behind them, demanding better protection for students who deserve a safe space to learn, grow, and simply be themselves.
