Behind the filtered smiles and upbeat captions, the former Bond girl and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shares she has been dealing with a storm of stress and upheaval.
The 54-year-old Denise Richards admits she’s been having a “very, very, very difficult time” amid her divorce from Aaron Phypers. In a candid Instagram Reel, she sarcastically called her summer “wonderful” before confessing it was actually “sh**ty.”
Denise adds didn’t want to keep pretending everything was fine. She acknowledged the support she’s received from fans but admitted the circumstances of her split from Phypers are complicated and not easy to discuss publicly.
She’s been “posting on Instagram like nothing’s going on in [her] life,” she didn’t want to continue to pretend like everything was fine because “there’s obviously been something going on,” the insider dishes to Star Magazine.
She requested that a judge allow an eight-hour window to remove her possessions, her late mother’s keepsakes, and her dogs. The tension escalated after Aaron euthanized one of their dogs due to cancer, adding urgency to her actions.

Things have gotten messy on the financial front, too. Phypers, who has been unemployed for some time, reportedly shared the property with his elderly parents and brother and allegedly hasn’t paid rent for three years.
Meanwhile, Denise has been juggling multiple Calabasas rentals for herself, her daughters, and her work needs. All while also dealing with spousal support claims of $105,000 a month from Aaron, despite his lack of income. Denise is pushing back. She’s asking Aaron to cover her legal fees and attend a year-long intervention program while taking responsibility for expenses tied to her abuse claims.
The restraining order remains in effect, with another hearing scheduled for early September. Amidst the drama, Denise continues to work, filming new projects and appearing on RHOBH. While it might feel like a reality show on steroids, Denise seems determined to reclaim her life and her space.
