Bristol Palin the newest member of the Teen mom OG cast reveals that she really struggled financially as a young mom. Bristol reveals that her mom and dad cut her off financially after she became pregnant and believes ” “[That’s what] Good parents should do!”
According to The Ashley, Bristol Palin stated; “Being super-fertile was not always financially lucrative for me, guys!”
Palin wants her fans to know that despite her last name she did not have an easy time of it making ends meet, True at this time in her life she is pulling in a cool $250,000 for her very first season on Teen mom OG, but she knows about hard times.
Bristol sent out an Instagram message last weekend revealing that in 2008 when she became pregnant as a teen, her mom Sarah and dad Todd Palin put their foot down and stopped paying her way. Bristol also claims that it was one of the best things her parents could have done for her at the time.
“People have this assumption that I haven’t struggled with finances but my parents cut me off lonnng long ago, like when I got knocked up 10+ years ago (which good parents should do),” Bristol wrote. Despite working on the hit reality series Teen Mom OG now, Bristol claims that she had worked a job most of her life.
“Obviously I’ve had opportunities that I have accepted and worked my ass off in, but I have always had a job,” Bristol wrote. “I worked full time at a doctor’s office for over 7.5 years. As a single mom you have to put your head down and work… you can’t try to ‘keep up with the joneses.’ I’ve had to pull myself up by my own boot…er, I mean, overall straps!”
Bristol went on to advise other young single moms on how to make things work when you do not have the reality television opportunity that a handful of women do.
“You have to sacrifice and work you’re a$$ off, you have to be smart,” Bristol wrote. “Don’t waste money you don’t have. Are nails important? Or a college savings account for your kids? You cannot be prideful. Drive a sh**ty car, live within your means, don’t beat yourself up for working long hours…your kids will see your hustle—put [money] aside for them, for your own retirement—even a little bit at a time helps!”
Bristol added that she really is a very humble and independent worker and that she is not the entitled spoiled girl she is often described as.
More than a decade later Bristol Palin is the mother of three, works hard for her money and enjoys being a successful independent mom. So far, the drama for Bristol Palin has been minimal compared to the other veteran moms.
As previously reported, Teen Mom 2 cast members Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry are once again going at each other on social media. These two can’t seem to find a way to steer clear of butting into each other’s business, on and off of the reality series.
However, Teen Mom fans appear to thrive on the drama just as much as the feuding moms these days. It is early in the season for Bristol Palin so far, but, there is bound to be some earth-shattering drama heading her way soon.
