Barbara Walters health continues to rapidly decline forcing the legendary new reporter to miss yet another event in her honor according to new reports. Barbara Walters recently made a generous donation of $15 million to her alma mater, Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y., however, the 88-year-old TV legend was unable to attend the ceremony honoring her gift due to health reasons a close friend reportedly stated to the The National Enquirer.
“Construction has begun on the Barbara Walters Campus Center, but Barbara was too frail to attend the groundbreaking,” the source stated.
Earlier this year Blasting News reported that Barbara Walters was content to spend her days alone at her home in her ritzy New York City apartment building. According to the former “View” star’s doorman, she has been refusing visitors for the past several months. This abnormal behavior from Barbara Walters has led those closest to her to fear the worst. BN stated that Barbara once an avid traveler and socialite now prefers isolation, and spends her days alternating between her bed and wheelchair feeling too frail and weak to see her friends.
It has been several years since Barbara Walters has been spotted out in public. The last time was in July of 2016. Family and friends fear that Barbara has given up on life and appears to be suffering from signs of advanced dementia.
“She only recognizes very few things these days. When asked about Walter’s health condition, her reps deny that the TV legend is suffering from dementia. However, a source close to Walters claims that these days she rarely knows her own name.

Calls made to Bab’s personal home line are intercepted by the staff, who share very limited information concerning Walter’s health condition. The very few that have been permitted brief visits with Walters claim that she now has no interest at all in her appearance. This is extremely out of character for Walters, who in the past have always taken great pride in her appearance and fashion sense.
One insider previously told RO that Babs has not had her hair or makeup done in more than a year. She now just has the staff only wash her hair and brush it back into a ponytail. Friends fear that Barbara is now nearing the end and has given up on life entirely. She is now described as “paranoid” and untrusting of everyone. “Sometimes she gets angry and will physically swat at caretakers if they cause her any pain” one pal reveals to Radar.
This is very sad information for fans of Barbara Walters. Everyone really misses seeing Barbara on television. The aging process is often hard and difficult for most to accept, especially when you are a well-known and beloved celebrity.
