Shameless star Ethan Cutkosky, who plays Carl on the Showtime series, had a real Gallagher moment recently. The actor, who is only 18-years-old, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Thursday night in the L.A. area.
According to TMZ, Ethan Cutkosky plays William H. Macy’s second youngest son on Shameless, which premiere Season 8 on Sunday night. Ethan’s character, Carl, is known for his gangster ways, including selling drugs, serving time behind bars, and starting fights. It looks like life is imitating art in this case, as Ethan is now looking at some legal woes.
Ethan Cutkosky was reportedly driving his orange BMW went he was stopped by police at 10:30 p.m. The report claims that the Shameless star was straddling traffic lanes and did not pass a field sobriety test upon being pulled over.
To make matters worse, police claimed that the smelled the odor of marijuana coming from Ethan Cutkosky’s car when they stopped him. The Shameless star reportedly admitted to smoking weed that night, and was later taken for blood and toxicology test. The results of which are still pending.
On the Showtime series, Cutkosky’s character Carl was seen preparing for the fall when he would be headed back to military school, and also helping his siblings, Lip, Ian, and Debbie sell meth that their late mother, Monica, had left to them in order to turn a profit. As for Carl, he used his meth money to buy a huge hot tub, which he put in the Gallagher family back yard.
There has been no word on whether Ethan Cutkosky’s job with Shameless and Showtime will be in jeopardy in the wake of his arrest. Ethan, who is currently under the legal drinking age, may see some major consequences for the arrest. The actor has yet to comment on the situation publicly.
