However, with so many seasons under their belt, viewers can help but wonder when the show may come to an end. Now, Shonda Rhimes is telling all about the end of the series.
According to a Nov. 8 report by E! Online, Shonda Rhimes is finally dishing some details about when Grey’s Anatomy may end. Shonda, who is ending her beloved political drama, Scandal, this year, has sparked questions about the end of Grey’s in the past, but it seems like she’s giving even more information now!
Shonda says that she and Grey’s Anatomy‘s leading lady, Ellen Pompeo, who plays main character Meredith Grey, have a deal. Rhimes claims that she will continue to do the medical drama for as long as Pompeo will star on the show. The show’s creator says that she and Ellen have made a pact that they she’ll continue with the show as long as the actress wants to star.
Shonda Rhimes also went on to say that there would be no Grey’s Anatomy without Ellen Pompeo, and although the series has lost major stars in the past such as Patrick Dempsey, who played the love of Meredith’s life, Dr. Derek Shepherd and Sandra Oh, who portrayed Dr. Grey’s best friend, Cristina Yang.
“Ellen and I have a pact that I’m going to do the show as long as she’s going to do the show. So the show will exist as long as both of us want to do it. If she wants to stop, we’re stopping. So I don’t know if we’ll see 600, but I want to keep it feeling fresh. As long as there are fresh stories to tell and as long as we’re both excited about the stories being told, we’re in. So, we’ll see where that takes us,” Rhimes said.
