Marshall Tucker Band guitarist Stuart Swanlund died on Monday at the age of 54 from natural causes.
Yahoo News reported that Don Murray Grubbs, the bands publicist confirmed that Stuart Swanlund passed away on Monday night in his sleep at his home in Chicago.
Stuart Swanlund joined the Marshall Tucker Band in 1985, and was the longest running member of the band, next to founder Doug Gray.
The Marshall Tucker Band is best known for their hit singles including “Can’t You See,” and “Heard It In A Love Song,” to name a couple.
The band has been successfully active since 1973, and throughout the years has had over twenty different musicians as members of “The Marshall Tucker Band.”
Stuart Swanlund’s funeral will take place Saturday at the Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, S.C.
He’s survived by his sister, three grandchildren, a son, William “Billy” Swanlund, and his lifelong partner, Stacey Schmaren.
