Could “Vampire Diaries” stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev be in line to star in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie? According to The Stir, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up to see the real-life couple in the in the sexy roles.

While Ian has expressed much interested in playing the male lead, Christian Grey, it seems Nina doesn’t want to touch the role of Anastasia Steele. “I think if people saw us in Fifty Shades of Grey, they’d just see Elena and Damon,” Dobrev said, referring to the pair’s “Vampire Diaries” characters.

However, some fans have been very vocal on wanting Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie, to which Somerhalder called the idea “interesting,” but not likely.

Ian and Nina aren’t the only real-life couple being rumored for the very adult roles, “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have also been mentioned, as well as Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan.

For now, it seems, fans can only dream about the perfect casting for the highly anticipated film. Meanwhile, executives are still searching for the perfect combination to play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
