Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott has reportedly joined the cast of the Fox “90210” reboot which will begin airing on August 7 according to Radar Online.
This comes as good news for Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott who are currently battling major financial issues. Not only does this mean one paycheck, but now the couple can count on two to help pay down their massive debts and keep the wolves from their door a while longer.
While Tori is most likely thrilled to have Dean working by her side, or even just working fans are not too pleased with the thought of McDermott infiltrating the “90210” sacred ground.
As previously reported, the new reboot which will be called “BH 90210″ will star the original cast members, Tori Spelling (Donna), Gabrielle Carateris (Andrea), Jennie Garth (Kelly) Shannen Doherty (Brenda) Brian Austin Green (David) Jason Priestley (Brandon and Ian Zering (Steve,)
The show will be sadly missing one key player, Luke Perry, who played bad boy Dylan McKay. Perry died suddenly this spring after suffering a massive stroke at the age of 52, leaving family, friends, and fans devastated by the sudden loss.
The new series will be ‘basically satire” according to a source who spoke with Radar. “Their characters in the script are very over the top — like the tabloid versions of themselves. They take on their personas in the press — Shannon as a mega diva, Tori and Dean are fighting and broke.
They are making fun of themselves. We’ll see their characters grappling with doing a ‘reboot’”
Fox has signed on for a six-episode run set for summer and believes the reboot will do very well, especially with the 90s nostalgia lovers.reboot to a whole new meta-level.”
“When the cast gets back together, it will come with a big twist: the seven former teen idols will be playing heightened versions of themselves in the brand-new serialized drama – with a healthy dose of irreverence – that is inspired by their real lives and relationships with each other,” the official network press release states.
Dean McDermott is listed in the script as a co-star and fans can expect to see Spelling’s family members will make cameos as well this will also include Candy Spelling and Tori’s brother Randy.

There will also be a tribute and acknowledgment made to the late Luke Perry which will be tough for the cast and fans to get through. Hopefully, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott will take this opportunity to pay down their debt, and eventually get back on the right track once and for all.
